Quick shipping, Mini 2 works

Bought a Nix Mini 2. Shipped fast. Got it in 4 days. It works as expected. Scanned some paint colors already. Simple to use.

Nix Spectro L experience

I ordered the Nix Spectro L for my print shop. The ordering process on their website was straightforward enough, and I received an order confirmation quickly. Delivery took 6 days to reach me in California, which was within the expected timeframe they provided. The device arrived well-packaged. I've used it a few times now, and the color readings seem consistent with our other equipment. Setting it up with the Nix Spectro App was pretty easy, just followed the instructions. Haven't needed customer support yet, which is a good sign, I guess. The build quality feels solid.

Got the Mini 3, it's cool

So I finally got myself a Nix Mini 3. I saw a few people online using them, and it looked pretty neat for matching colors around the house. It got here pretty fast, like under a week. It was easy to get started with the app on my phone, just followed the steps. Tried it on a couple of walls and some fabric; it seems to pick up colors pretty well. It's a handy little gadget for sure.

Consistently reliable service

This isn't my first purchase from Nix Sensor; I've bought a few things over the years, including a Nix Pro 2 previously. This time, I needed a Calibration Tile. The experience was consistent with my past orders. The website was easy to navigate, and checkout was smooth. Shipping was on time again, arriving in about five days. It's why I keep coming back – I know what to expect, and they deliver. The products always perform well.

Good value with the bundle

I was looking for a good deal on a colorimeter and found Nix Sensor. I ended up getting the Nix Mini 3 and a Protective Carrying Case bundled together. The bundle saved me a few dollars compared to buying them separately, which was nice. Shipping was free, too. Overall, I felt like I got good value for my money.

Is the Nix Spectro really better than the X-Rite i1Pro for printing? I need something super accurate for color proofs and client matching.

J Jeff J. 3 weeks ago
For print, the Spectro L is pretty solid. It's built for that. I've heard good things about the i1Pro too, but the Nix integrates well with their print apps. Might depend on your workflow.

I think the Spectro L holds its own against X-Rite for print. It's a professional-grade device and super accurate. Plus, the Nix software ecosystem is pretty user-friendly, which is a plus for day-to-day use over some of the competitors.

Wondering about returns for Nix Sensor devices. If I get one and it's not what I expected, how easy is it to send back?

M Matt Rodriguez 1 week ago
Yeah returns were easy, did it last month. Just had to fill out a form on their site and ship it back.

I returned a Mini 2 once. It was pretty straightforward, just make sure you keep all the original packaging. I think you have a certain number of days, so check their policy on the website, but it wasn't a hassle at all.

Hey, thinking of getting a Nix Mini 3. Do these things work on textured walls? My living room has some stucco texture and I wanna make sure it'll scan properly.

H Hannah Robinson 3 weeks ago
I've used my Mini 2 on slightly textured walls with no problem. I think as long as it's not super deep texture it should be fine. It just needs a flat-ish spot to get a good reading.

Hmm, depends on the texture. If it's really uneven, like super deep stucco, you might get inconsistent readings. The sensor needs pretty good contact. Maybe try to find the flattest spot possible or average a few readings?

Anyone know if Nix Sensor ever has sales, like Black Friday or something? Trying to justify the cost for a Spectro L.

J Jacob Parker 1 month ago
They usually have some deals around Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I got my Pro 2 during one of those sales last year, saved a decent chunk.

Keep an eye out for their holiday sales, especially towards the end of the year. Sometimes they'll do bundle deals too, which can be a good way to save if you need accessories or another device.

Thinking of getting a Nix Mini 3 for my DIY paint projects. Is it good enough or should I splurge for the Spectro L? I don't need super pro stuff but want accurate colors for my house.

R Rachel Hall 3 weeks ago
Mini 3 is totally fine for most home stuff. I use mine for picking paint colors and it's always been spot on. Spectro L is more if you're a designer or something, way overkill for just home use imo.

Yeah, if you're not doing like, client work or needing insane precision for matching existing finishes, the Mini 3 is excellent. It gets you really close for paint brands like Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore.
